Vail Fire Station 2

XXX | XXX

Originally constructed in the early 1970s, Fire Station No.2 is located in central Vail at the intersection of Meadow Drive and Vail Road, and was the Fire Department Headquarters until 2010 when a new station was constructed in West Vail. The redesign of Station 2 establishes a definition of the “new” Vail architectural style with meaningful respect for Vail’s past and future.

Station 2 will now serve as quarters for three rotating duty crews who will be housed at the remodeled facility, 24 hours per day. The Town of Vail identified the opportunity to proactively address the employee housing requirements by developing units addressing both singles and families at the Fire Station. A two-bedroom unit and a studio unit will occupy the space on the west side of the upper level.

The iconic tower erected on the north side of the Station screens a wide variety of communication antennas.
